Animation studio MAPPA has announced the start of activities for music label mappa records, which it says is part of its efforts to add yet more depth to the setting of an anime and create richer depictions.
The press release states that the label will work with composers and artists to create music that aligns with the setting of a show even more than previous efforts. It added that it will pursue the the “possibilities” of “‘music’ x ‘animation.’”
Aside from producing music, the label will handle activities like international streaming distribution, CD and LP releases, and live event management.
