A teaser trailer and teaser visual for this July’s Mr. Osomatsu Season 4 have been released.
A super teaser trailer and visual were revealed in January.
Mr. Osomatsu is inspired by the Shogakukan-published 1962 Osomatsu-kun gag manga series by the late Fujio Akatsuka, which revolves around the Matsuno sextuplets. The first season premiered in 2015, while the third aired from October 2020 to March 2021.
The new Mr. Osomatsu season was announced last June and is the first in the series to be credited to Pierrot Films, Pierrot‘s rebranded second studio.
Aside from the TV anime, there is a 2019 Mr. Osomatsu anime movie, two theatrical sixth anniversary projects that were released in 2022 and 2023, and a non-Pierrot-produced short form web anime released in 2016. There are also non-anime media releases such as a Shueisha-published manga by Masako Shitara, novels, and games.
The Osomatsu-kun manga previously inspired two anime adaptations, one of which was produced by Pierrot, and a 24-minute anime film in the second half of the 20th century. A live-action movie was released in Japan in 2022.
