Idea Factory International has announced a 2025 global Steam release for the Death end re;Quest: Code Z JRPG.
The announcement comes weeks ahead of the game’s western-side May 13 console launch. A gameplay trailer was also released.
Death end re;Quest: Code Z is the latest installment of the Death end re;Quest series, which started in 2018 when the original Death end re;Quest was first launched on PS4 in Japan. The game originally launched in Japan in September 2024 and differs from earlier entries by being a roguelike. The narrative premise is described as:
The Compile Heart-developed title was supposed to be released on Nintendo Switch in the west as well. However, that launch was cancelled, with Idea Factory International saying that Death end re;Quest: Code Z and the also-affected Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth games did not comply with the Nintendo Guidelines.
